I'll choose the Nine of Pentacles! This is going to be a very busy and complicated week in terms of work and schedule, so I'll keep this image to motivate me to sail through it all gracefully and enjoy Saturday when it arrives!

The Wheel of Fortune! It's the large expanse of blue in the card, a contrast to the other dark & gloomy cards. I like the colours in this version of the RWS - not as glaringly bright and strange as the more usual version.

But the card itself leaves me cold. I have a huge RWS block - the images just seem dead and 1-dimensional to me. I can read the symbols, but the deeper _meaning_ evades me. I've invested in the LS Universal (you _have_ to have a clone at the very least) and hope to learn to read the RWS style using that one.

Kristine,

You've probably seen other editions of this deck, where the sky in The Sun is bright blue, and it's an all around very sunny card. It's interesting that in this edition of The Sun, the sky in the lower half of the card is black. Perhaps it is rising? In any case, it seems that it reflects a more complex range of emotions—such as the desire to withdraw mixed with an attraction to the joyful child.

"...those rare people who do not let their life spirit get compromised..." Now that's something to aspire to. Rare, indeed.

Thanks for writing, Kristine.

The Sun jumped at me.
Not that I feel like I'm there these days. I'm more like withdrawing, but somehow I'm attracted to this ever joyful child of the sun. Maybe I simply tend to forget what I have to be joyous for. Or do not allow myself to be truly happy. Today my husband and I talked about these rare people who does not let their life spirit get comprised, no matter what bad things happen to them. They simply refuse to let it get to them, bring it down.
We, I, can learn a lot from them.
